Rivers PDP condemns murder of member’s wifeWritten by Alfred Ledum
Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah, has condemned the gruesome murder of Mrs. Ebire Ejor Ngowah Ejor, wife of a chieftain of the party and former Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Council, Chief Ejor Ngowah Ejor.
The PDP Chairman, in a statement last Tuesday signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to State PDP Chairman, who described her murder as “unwarranted, barbaric and shocking”, said the manner of Mrs. Ejor’s abduction and subsequent killing was more of political.
Obuah explained that late Mrs. Ejor was kidnapped and abducted by suspected hired assassins in Port Harcourt on Sunday July 5, 2015 until the early hours of Tuesday, July 7, 2015, when her body was discovered in a remote village around Eagle Island, a Port Harcourt suburb.
Obuah, who condemned the taking of someone’s life, urged the Rivers State Police Command and other relevant security agencies to beef up security in and around the State. The PDP Chairman demanded prompt unravelling of those behind the woman’s murder. He also urged the police to unearth those behind the act.
While reiterating the determination of the present administration to ensure a crime-free state, Obuah appealed to youths as well as others involved in kidnapping, killing, cultism, armed robbery and other social vices in the State, to desist before the full wrath of the law would catch up on them.
The PDP Chairman further called on parents and guardians, churches and corporate organizations to join the government in fighting crime in the state.
