Musa seals deal with LeicesterWritten by CHARLES BIKUME
Nigerian international, Ahmed Musa, has completed his £16 million move to Leicester. He joins reining English premiership champions with a rich background of Russian football having played in the league.
Musa, 23, sealed a four-year contract with the English Premier League champions after passing a medical. Leicester City confirmed the deal on its website but however, did not disclose details.
The Foxes signed the striker from CSKA Moscow on a club-record deal after breaking their previous top fee of £9.7 million for Andrej Kramaric.
Claudio Ranieri has bolstered his attack following Leicester’s incredible title-winning campaign in the Premier League last season.
Champions League football awaits the Foxes, and Musa has good experience of the competition from his time in Russia.
The 23-year-old has played in Europe’s elite club competition in the last three seasons and netted 17 goals in all competitions last term.
Leicester have been tracking the player for some time, and according to the BBC, Southampton, Everton and West Ham were all interested too.
But the Nigeria international has now completed his move to the King Power Stadium and becomes Leicester’s fourth summer signing.
Musa will provide support upfront for Jamie Vardy after the England star committed his future to the club by agreeing a new contract despite a pursuit from Arsenal.
And Musa could make his debut for the Foxes against Manchester United in the Community Shield against Manchester United.
