As the Super Eagles of Nigeria square up against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun in the second leg of the 2018 World Cup qualifying match in Yaoundé on Monday, the Proprietor of Go-Round Football Club of Omoku, Rivers State, Mr. Felix Obuah, has charged the team “to go all out and replicate the feat recorded in Uyo last weekend.”
Obuah, a patron of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), in a statement in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, expressed confidence that the ‘well improved Eagles’ have all it takes to beat the Cameroonians on home soil, a statement made available to The Neighbourhood on Monday and signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser On Media and Publicity to Mr. Obuah, said.
“The Super Eagles we watched in Uyo last weekend were highly improved and have the capacity to meet the expectations of the people. My advice to them is to play with caution because the Indomitable Lions would want to roar like wounded lions but they could be tamed if Super Eagles play with utmost caution,” Obuah said.
The Go-Round FC sponsor, who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Rivers State commended the team and its handlers for displaying “an uncommon strength, determination and high professionalism in last weekend’s encounter.”
Obuah said, “With nine points already garnered from three impressive wins and the expected win today, it is imperative that all sports loving Nigerians will continue to support them to make the nation proud.”
He, however, urged the Mikel Obi-led squad not to be hasty in the opening minutes of tonight’s game, but “sit back and watch what the Lions have to offer, before showcasing your killer moves to destroy them.”
Obuah, who is also the Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), commended the government and people of Akwa Ibom State for hosting last Saturday’s game. The fans equally received kudos for their good conduct and sportsmanship throughout the game.
