Rivers State may have recorded the first human casualty as Nigerians turned out in their millions to elect a President and Members of the National Assembly.
Among those reportedly shot dead by unidentified gun is a former Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor. However, it was yet to be confirmed that the man’s elder brother was also killed. Chief Mown Etete, a former Chairman of Andoni local governmrt area, his elder brother, and a cousin, were shot dead on election morning.
Etete was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before he joined the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State.
Despite the presence of security men, armed groups have been having a free day going by reports coming in from various voting points in Rivers State.
