Embattled former Ag. Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Gbene Dr. Joi Nunieh, has secured temporary reprieve from alleged attempts to arrest her.
A Rivers State High Court has, therefore, stopped Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Godswill Akpabio, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, or other security agencies and their agents from arresting the former NDDC Chief Executive Officer.
Honourable Justice E.N Thompson, who issued the Order on Friday, July 17, 2020, while ruling in SUIT NO: PHC/1128 FHR 2020, filed by Sylvester Adaka for Nunieh, granted the four reliefs sought by the Applicant.
The matter, which was heard Ex Parte, was adjourned until July 27, 2020 when hearing is expected to commence.
