A former Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has returned to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and was received at an elaborate ceremony which had Governor Nyesom Wike in attendance at the Banquet Hall, Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday.
Mr. Lloyd, who was a key ally of Nigeria’s Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, played the biggest role in a foiled attempt by minority 5 Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach Amaechi as governor.
In a terrifying fight waged by Lloyd to dislodge the “coup plotters” believed to have been prompted by same Wike who was then the Federal Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Education, Lloyd as House Leader, dealt a deadly blow on Mr. Chinda, one of the anti-Amaechi lawmakers.
At the event today, Lloyd apologised to his victim over that incident.
The Neighbourhood was informed by a source familiar with the deals preceding the Monday open somersault by the former state lawmaker, that he had complained of neglect by Mr. Amaechi against what he claimed were his support for the then governor and currently as a Federal Minister.
