Youths in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State, have set ablaze a Chief Magistrate’s Court as armed policemen engage them firing what was believed to be live bullets.
Protesters said it is part of the #ENDSARS protests which have swept through Nigeria since October 8.
The angry youths who said their anger was against bad governance, were overheard in a live video mobilising to the Aba Correctional Centre. Some of the incensed were heard shouting, “Aba Prison (Correctional Centre).”
One of the youths said that the police had mobilised thugs against them which necessitated their angry reaction.
The epicentre of the ongoing violent outburst is the St. Michael’s area by Asa Road, known for its computer and and related activity. It is known as “Abia Computer Village “. The situation brought human and vehicular activity to complete halt.
