The Rivers State Police Command has paraded 21 suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, accused of involvement in the killing of 3 police officers in Oyigbo, in Oyigbo local government area of the state.

They were also accused of taking part in the burning of 3 police stations in the same area under the guise of #EndSARS protests

Commissioner of Police, Joseph G. Mukan,  who paraded the suspected members of the proscribed terrorist organisation, on Monday,  at the State Police Command Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, gave the names of the slain police officers as Inspector Sunday Dubon, an APC driver attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, with AP/No. 241542; Sergeant Swawale who was attached to the 19 Police Mobile Force in Port Harcourt but was on Special Duty at Oyigbo. According to CP Mukan, both were killed and burnt to ashes.

He gave the name of the third police officer who died also in the hands of the outlawed group as Sergeant Umunna Uchechukwu, F/No. 424944, serving in Afam Police Station, who had his leg and hands cut off before being also burnt to ashes.

CP Mukan said that the 21 arrested persons would be charged to court at the conclusion of police investigation.

He commiserated with families of the deceased officers.

Arrested IPOB members as released by the Rivers State Police Command.
