The Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has elected a former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Israel, and Cyprus, Prof. George Obiozor, its President-General.
Obiozor was returned elected emerged in an election held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, the Imo state capital, on Sunday.
This is as other candidates for the position of the President General boycotted the election.
Chief Gerry Igariwe, who announced the result, said Obiozor obtained 304 votes to emerge the winner.
